The standardized benefits a Medigap plan type are exactly the same no matter which carrier you buy from. Plan F offered by ManhattanLife offers the same standardized benefits as Plan F offered by another company.

Note: Plan F and Plan C are not available to Medicare beneficiaries who became eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan A

Medigap Plan A provides coverage for 4 types of out-of-pocket Medicare costs.

Plan A might be a good fit for you if you do not expect to incur a lot of health care costs in a given calendar year.

Medigap Plan A covers the following costs:

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
  • First three pints of blood
  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan C

Medigap Plan C offers more standardized benefits, as it covers a number of out-of-pocket Medicare costs.

Plan C might be a good fit for you if you want greater cost predictability with your Medicare coverage.

Plan C covers the following costs:  

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
  • First three pints of blood
  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
  • Coinsurance for skilled nursing facility care
  • Medicare Part A deductible
  • Medicare Part B deductible
  • Emergency care received in a foreign country (covered at 80%)

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan F

Medigap Plan F is the most popular plan nationwide across carriers, and it has more standardized benefits than any other Medicare Supplement Insurance plan.

Plan F includes coverage of each of the following Medicare costs:

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
  • First three pints of blood
  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
  • Coinsurance for skilled nursing facility care
  • Medicare Part A deductible
  • Medicare Part B deductible
  • Emergency care received in a foreign country (covered at 80%)
  • Medicare Part B excess charges

Plan F also comes in a high-deductible option.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan G

Medigap Plan G is an increasingly popular Medicare Supplement Insurance plan.

Plan G covers a number of Medicare costs, including:

  • Medicare Part A coinsurance and hospital costs
  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
  • First three pints of blood
  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
  • Coinsurance for skilled nursing facility care
  • Medicare Part A deductible

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan N

Medigap Plan N also covers a number of Medicare out-of-pocket costs, including:

  • Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment

  • Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
  • Coinsurance for skilled nursing facility care
  • Medicare Part A deductible
  • Emergency care received in a foreign country (covered at 80%)

*Plan N’s coverage of the Medicare Part B deductible may require a copayment of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 for emergency room visits that do not result in inpatient hospital admission.
